Balvenie Tun 1858 Batch 1 is a limited-edition, age-statement Speyside single malt whisky produced at the Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown Scotland. Originally produced for the Taiwanese market, this now annual, collectible release was crafted from a selection of whiskies distilled between 1966 and 1975 and matured in six American oak casks and three European oak Sherry casks. Just 2,600 individually numbered bottles were released.

Crafted with Care

One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.

David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
