A rich, deep nose opens proceedings with notes of exotic dried fruits, ground ginger, brown sugar and baking spice. The palate is big, bold Balvenie with candied orange peel, toasted hazelnuts, oak vanilla and honeycomb. A sweet, malty finish rounds things off with yet more baking spice and oak vanilla.
Another fantastic dram from David Stewart and the team at Balvenie and a worthy entry in this legendary series.

One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.
David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
