Batch 6 of one of The Balvenie`s most iconic series of bottlings. A blend of 21 different casks, a mixture of ex-Sherry and American oak are combined and married in a single tun for three months before bottling. It`s easy to see why this is such a hit with fans of The Balvenie - the nose is rich with soft brown sugar, golden syrup and toasted barley while the palate introduces a whiff of Christmas cake and wild heather honey. The finish is sweet and rounded with a pleasing spiciness.

One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.
David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
