Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch 6 is a Speyside single malt created by marrying 11 traditional whisky casks and three Sherry butts. This batch, crafted by David Stewart, brings together whiskies of varying ages to create a profile of exceptional depth and complexity, featuring notes of citrus, liquid honey, and Christmas spices. The long marrying period in the tun allows the different cask influences to integrate perfectly, resulting in a seamless and velvety texture. It is bottled at 49.3% alcohol, preserving the rich, oily character and aromatic intensity of the spirit.

Crafted with Care
One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.
David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
