Batch 5 of this liquid amber Speyside single malt was the brainchild of Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE. Four ex-sherry casks and five ex-bourbon casks were used in the creation of this special limited edition. Dried mango and stewed fruit on the nose with the aromatics of parma violets, a honeyed palate and delicate oak spice which carries through to the finish.

Crafted with Care
One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.
David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
