Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch 3 is a Speyside single malt whisky, created by blending 10 traditional ex-bourbon casks with three Sherry butts within the distillery`s Tun 1401. Master blender David Stewart has curated this batch by selecting whiskies of various ages to showcase complexity. The whisky`s profile includes notes of citrus, liquid honey and Christmas spices, reflecting the influence of both the bourbon and Sherry casks. Bottled at 50.3% ABV, it maintains a rich, oily character alongside an aromatic intensity. The lengthy marrying process in Tun 1401 allows the diverse cask influences to merge seamlessly, offering a velvety texture.

One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.
David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
