A rare single cask release from Balvenie. This whisky was distilled in early 1971 and then laid to rest in an ex-Oloroso Sherry cask for over 45 years before bottling. The nose is exotic spices and dark fruits with a hint of brown sugar while the palate is deep and rich with notes of honeycomb and toasted oak. The finish is malt sweetness and even more dried fruits.

Crafted with Care
One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.
David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
