A 40-year-old single malt from Balvenie’s Rare Marriages series, patiently matured for four decades in a harmonious combination of American and European oak casks. The nose opens with layers of honey, orange marmalade and soft, creamy fruit, while the palate unfolds with candied ginger, vanilla, oak and orange blossom, enriched by notes of sherry-soaked fruit and delicate honeyed sweetness.

Crafted with Care

One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.

David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
