Balvenie 19 Year Old DCS Compendium Chapter #2, distilled in 1997. This expression was matured in a cask previously used for the 21 Year Old PortWood release, imparting a unique depth. The whisky presents a profile featuring prunes, plums, and figs, offering a straightforward exploration of its oak influence and fruit characteristics. It forms part of the second release in the five-part DCS Compendium series, a tribute to Balvenie`s malt master, David Stewart, who has been with the distillery since 1962

One of Speyside's most famous single malts, located in Dufftown and owned by William Grant and Sons. The distillery was founded in the late 1800s by William Grant, who worked at the Mortlach distillery nearby. Master Distiller David Stewart is credited with making Balvenie the powerhouse we know today.

David worked at Balvenie for many decades and introduced many innovations that are now widespread across the industry including 'cask finishes' where whiskies are aged for a period in ex-Bourbon wood before being finished for a relative short period in a more active barrel.
