Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Balblair 1965 is a vintage Highland single malt that represents a rare look at the distillery’s spirit from the mid-20th century. Matured for decades, this expression exhibits a profound complexity that only comes with patient, long-term maturation. The nose is deep and evolving, showing notes of beeswax, old leather, apricot jam and a hint of tropical fruit. On the palate, the whisky is medium to full-bodied with a silky, well-integrated texture. Flavours of honeyed malt, vanilla and soft wood spice develop through the mid-palate, leading into a finish of remarkable length and persistence. This is a sophisticated, authoritative malt that captures the elegance of the house style from a classic era.

One of Scotland's Oldest

Within the sight of the Balblair Distillery, on the plain of Eadar Dun in the Northern Highlands, lies an ancient Pictish monument, the 'Clach Biorach', or ‘sharp stone’. This potent symbol has become part of the identity of this connoisseur’s single malt brand, which lays claim to being one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland.

Balblair was founded in the picturesque Highlands village of Edderton in 1790. Although the distillery changed sites in 1872, it continued to be produced with spring water from its original source of Ault Dreag burn. These peaty waters which filter down from the rugged mountains of this Northern Highlands region, once a hotbed for illicit distillation, are said to account for the whisky’s delicately smoky flavour.

Just 15% of Balblair's output is used to produce single malts (the rest can be found in various blended whiskies). While Balblair previously released these by vintage, since 2019 the distillery has introduced a core range of age-statement whiskies. This includes 12, 15, 18 and 25-year-old expressions.
