Auchroisk 12 Year Old Cadenheads 1978 is a vintage Speyside single malt from a single cask, bottled by the historic independent bottler Cadenhead’s. Distilled in 1978 and matured for 12 years, this expression captures the distillery’s spirit during a period of classic production. The nose is fragrant and complex, showing notes of beeswax, orchard fruits, honey and a hint of old leather. On the palate, the whisky is medium-bodied with a silky texture and flavours of spiced orange, vanilla and dried herbs. The maturation has integrated the oak perfectly, resulting in a spirit of great balance and complexity. It finishes with a lingering warmth and a touch of dark cocoa, representing a well-preserved example of Speyside history from a sought-after vintage.

Triple Distilled Lowland Malt

Situated at the foot of the Old Kilpatrick Hills near Glasgow, Auchentoshan means "corner of the field" in Gaelic. Auchentoshan is one of the last few remaining Lowland distilleries - producing an elegant, lighter style of single malt. The spirit is distilled not twice like most Scottish whiskies, but three times, a technique used famously by Irish distillers to create a smoother dram. This isn't so surprises when you find out that Auchentoshan was founded by Irish immigrants who moved to Clydebank in the 1800s.

If you're looking for a lighter dram, Auchentoshan is a fantastic option. Subtle and elegant, this is a single malt that appeals to those who might find more traditional Scottish single malts too aggressive on the palate.
