Aubert Ritchie Chardonnay 2012 is a notable example from one of California’s most esteemed wineries, and winemaker. Crafted from meticulously selected grapes Chardonnay, Ritchie Vineyard is made from the old Wente clone favoured by so many of the top winemakers, this wine presents a complex profile with notes of citrus, stone fruit, and subtle oak. The palate is characterised by a balanced acidity and a lingering finish.

The 2012 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is dense, powerful and explosive to the core, with tremendous energy, especially for a wine of its age. Lemon confit, apricot, dried flowers and chamomile build as this plush, layered Chardonnay takes center stage. What a gorgeous and compelling wine it is. Antonio Galloni9th May 2024

Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
