Lauren was the first estate Chardonnay produced by legendary winemaker, Mark Aubert. The vineyard is located in the “golden hills” of Forestville, Sonoma County, and typically produces the most concentrated wine in the range. The 2018 is explosive, exuberant and effortless. It exudes a brilliantly intense core of citrus and stone fruits, alongside distinctive notes of roasted nuts, cinnamon and lime zest. It is rich and viscous but has exceptional purity and vivacity.
Vinous
The 2018 Chardonnay Lauren Vineyard, from vines planted in 1993, is the wine that, for me, brings together all the best elements of the Aubert style. Nuanced and silky, the 2018 is pure class from the very first taste. Lemon oil, white flowers and mint accents add complexity, but there is something about the wine's textural feel that just elevates it. Antonio Galloni1st January 2020

Sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Aubert was founded by Mark and Theresa Aubert in 2000, located on the famous Silverado trail in Calistoga. Before he and his partner opened Aubert, Mark had gained experience at the Peter Michael Winery and Colgin Cellars and also made wine at a 'custom crush' facility in California. Aubert have some proprietary vineyards, around three and half acres in Sonoma, which they bottle under the 'UV' label. The remainder of the fruit is sourced from selected vineyards across Sonoma and Napa.

In the world of wine, Aubert is really a byword for world-class single vineyard or single block Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vineyards they source from represent a mix of terroirs and include some old vines as well as some recent plantings. What remains consistent through all these bottlings is the preservation of fruit character and an extreme obsession with quality.
