This expression is notable for its high phenol content, measured at 100 parts per million (ppm), which reflects the distillery`s commitment to producing intensely smoky whiskies. With only 2,400 bottles available, this limited release exemplifies the distillery`s innovative approach. Ardbeg Distillery, established in 1815 on the Isle of Islay, has garnered recognition for its distinctive single malts, often pushing the boundaries of whisky craftsmanship.

Ardbeg

An Islay Icon

One of Scotland's most famous distilleries, Ardbeg is located on the isle of Islay, off the rugged west coast of Scotland. Founded in the early 1800s by John McDougall, the distillery has long been renowned for the heavily peaty spirits that flows from its stills. Ardbeg fell silent for eight years in the 1980s and distillation ceased. It was closed again the mid-1990s shortly before it was acquired by Glenmorangie, who restored the distillery to its former glory.

The distillery maintains around four core expressions, including the highly acclaimed Uigeadail, and regularly releases a number of themed limited editions as part of their committee release series and the annual "Ardbeg Day" celebrations.
