Ardbeg Single Sherry Cask 86 Fortnum & Mason is a single-cask Islay single malt whisky produced at the Ardbeg Distillery on the isle of Islay. This single-cask release of Ardbeg`s famously peaty malt was distilled in 1990 and matured for 16 year in a single ex-Sherry butt. It was bottled on 11 April 2007 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Fortnum & Mason store in London. Just 300 bottles were filled.

An Islay Icon

One of Scotland's most famous distilleries, Ardbeg is located on the isle of Islay, off the rugged west coast of Scotland. Founded in the early 1800s by John McDougall, the distillery has long been renowned for the heavily peaty spirits that flows from its stills. Ardbeg fell silent for eight years in the 1980s and distillation ceased. It was closed again the mid-1990s shortly before it was acquired by Glenmorangie, who restored the distillery to its former glory.

The distillery maintains around four core expressions, including the highly acclaimed Uigeadail, and regularly releases a number of themed limited editions as part of their committee release series and the annual "Ardbeg Day" celebrations.
