The Eisele Vineyard Cabernet by Araujo Estate is one of Napa’s most iconic wines. The 2012 is a dense and powerful wine built for the long haul. The nose is opulent and ripe with cassis, blackberry, forest floor and subtle toasty oak. On the palate it is full-bodied yet velvety and has an endlessly complex finish.

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is a relatively powerful statement from the new owners. Dense ruby/purple in color, with an exceptional nose of crème de cassis, a touch of mulberry and spice. The oak is completely obscured by the lavish, concentrated, ripe fruit and multi-dimensional mid-palate that expands beautifully, but with no sense of heaviness. The wine is rich and full-bodied, but with velvety tannin and stunning purple and black fruits. This is a beauty, with savoriness that’s hard to articulate. The finish goes on for a good 45+ seconds. This is a beauty that’s velvety, opulent and capable of drinking well now or in 25 to 30+ years. Robert Parker31st December 2015

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard was a showstopper from barrel, but I have never felt it reached the same level after bottling. Then again, this was the vintage of transition from Daphne and Bart Araujo to Artemis Domaines. All things considered, the 2012 has aged well, but it also lacks both the mid-palate richness and Eisele character that are such signatures of this great site. Antonio Galloni9th May 2024

A Napa Valley Icon

Another historic vineyard in Napa, first planted in the 1880s Eisele Vineyard sits in the northeast of the Napa Valley, east of Calistoga. Bart and Daphne Araujo converted the vineyards to organic farming in 1998 before moving to biodynamic practices in 2000. Broadly considered one of the great Cabernet Sauvignon terroirs in Napa, the wines continue to win praise from wine lovers and critics alike.

Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is the flagship wine, but the estate also producer a second wine called Altagracia, a Syrah and a Sauvignon Blanc. Before 2016, the wines were bottled under the Araujo label.
