A joint venture between Concha Y Toro and Barone Philippe de Rothschild, Almaviva is testament to the quality of the vineyards in Chile`s Puente Alto. This is a fantastic wine which easily competes with the classed growths of the Gironde in terms of both quality and longevity. Rated 97/100 by James Suckling.

The 2010 Blend Almaviva is 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Carménère, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot from the Maipo Valley. Harvested shortly after the 2010 earthquake, it reflects a cool vintage with red fruit aromas, hints of currant, soft spice and chutney. The tannins are polished and round, delivering a balsamic, slightly grippy finish. This has a ripe character and a full evolution shaped by later picking and a broader expression of maturity.
