Almaviva brings together the great know-how of the French viticultural tradition and the unique Chilean terroir. Located in the heart of the Maipo Valley, the joint venture between Château Mouton-Rothschild and Concha y Toro produces robust, yet elegant wines. The 2005 vintage is a blend of 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Carmenère and 5% Cabernet Franc, aged in new French oak for 18 months before bottling without fining or filtration. The wine is bright and quite fruit-driven, more expressive than the majority of other vintages.

Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 21% Carménère and 5% Cabernet Franc from Puente Alto, Maipo, harvested between April and May before spending 18 months in French oak. Reddish mahogany in the glass with a hint of garnet. The nose offers liqueur-infused aromas of cassis and blueberry jam, menthol and an evolving layer of dates, quince jelly and sweet spices. In the mouth it presents firm, reactive tannins with a vivid structure and intense, ripe flavors.Joaquin Hidalgo1st March 2020
