Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Aberlour A`bunadh Batch 7 is a historical release from the distillery`s popular cask-strength range, matured exclusively in oloroso Sherry casks. Like its predecessors, Batch 7 is bottled without chill-filtration or added colour, preserving the full intensity of the Sherry maturation. The bouquet is deep and brooding, featuring notes of treacle, dried plums, ginger and toasted walnuts. On the palate, the whisky is rich and velvety, with an explosive fruit sweetness balanced by a firm, spicy oak structure. The finish is persistent and drying, marked by notes of dark cocoa and clove. This early batch is highly regarded for its balance and the quality of the Sherry wood utilised, offering a more robust profile than many contemporary equivalents.

Aberlour's whisky production begins with the sourcing of the highest quality barley, which is malted on site and then milled to create a fine grist. This grist is mixed with hot water from the nearby natural springs, the wort is then fermented using the distillery's own unique strain of yeast, before being distilled in copper pot stills.

The distillery uses a combination of traditional and modern maturation techniques to create their signature whiskies. The whisky is initially matured in oak casks that have previously held Sherry, Bourbon, or other wines or spirits. The casks are then transferred to Aberlour's on-site warehouses, where the whisky is left to mature for several years in the cool, damp Highland air.

Aberlour's commitment to traditional whisky-making techniques is evident in every aspect of their production process. The distillery's cooperage is staffed by skilled craftsmen who create and repair the casks used to mature the whisky, while the distillery's malting floors are still in use today, allowing visitors to see the barley as it undergoes the malting process.
