Aalto PS 2010 is a full-bodied red wine produced from Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grapes in the Ribera del Duero region of Spain. Aalto Bodegas y Viñedos was established in 1999 in Ribera del Duero, one of Spain’s most prestigious wine regions right now. Aalto is a partnership between Javier Zaccagnini and winemaker Mariano García, who worked at the iconic Vega Sicilia for 30 years. `PS` stands for `Pagos Seleccionados` and indicates the carefully selected old-vine vineyard sites that produce the grapes for this top cuvée. The wine is matured for up to 24 months in resulting in a rich and complex wine with intense aromas of black fruit, spices, and oak in a combination of French and American oak (50% new). "This modern red marries toast and coffee flavours to ripe plum and blackberry notes. The texture is generous and plush, but the well-integrated tannins lend structure. Balanced and fresh." Wine Spectator, 2013

Crafting Ribera's Finest Elegance

In 1999, Mariano García and Javier Zaccagnini founded Aalto with the vision of creating world-class wines in Ribera del Duero. Mariano, a former winemaker at Vega Sicilia, and Javier, once the head of the Ribera del Duero regulatory council, bring unparalleled expertise to the project. Aalto's vineyards, comprising 130 hectares of old Tinto Fino vines, are scattered across nine municipalities, ensuring rich diversity in their wines. The modern winery in Quintanilla de Arriba, designed with minimalist elegance, utilizes gravity flow for gentle handling of the grapes. Aalto's wines, known for their depth, balance, and aging potential, reflect the true character of their prestigious region.
