Aalto 2014 is a red blend from Ribera del Duero, crafted from Tempranillo grapes sourced from old vines averaging 40 to 80 years. This wine emerges from meticulously tended plots across seven villages. Established in 1999 by Javier Zaccagnini and Mariano García, Aalto draws on García’s extensive experience from Vega Sicilia. The winery employs a gravity-fed system, ensuring gentle handling during vinification. Aalto 2014 benefits from 16 to 18 months in French barriques. The wine displays a profile of black fruit nuances, herbal undertones and sophisticated tannin integration.

Crafting Ribera's Finest Elegance

In 1999, Mariano García and Javier Zaccagnini founded Aalto with the vision of creating world-class wines in Ribera del Duero. Mariano, a former winemaker at Vega Sicilia, and Javier, once the head of the Ribera del Duero regulatory council, bring unparalleled expertise to the project. Aalto's vineyards, comprising 130 hectares of old Tinto Fino vines, are scattered across nine municipalities, ensuring rich diversity in their wines. The modern winery in Quintanilla de Arriba, designed with minimalist elegance, utilizes gravity flow for gentle handling of the grapes. Aalto's wines, known for their depth, balance, and aging potential, reflect the true character of their prestigious region.
