Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits

There are significant differences in terroir between the Hautes Côtes and the vineyards on the lower slopes of the Côte d’Or. In particular, the higher elevation generates a cooler mesoclimate. This is reflected in lighter, less concentrated wines. It should be noted, however, that the warmer vintages seen in recent years are proving to be beneficial to the vineyards in this appellation, with wines from leading producers offering markedly good-value when compared with those of Burgundy’s more prestigious appellations.
