Duty Charges

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

It was Charles Gordon himself who first conceived and went on to build the Girvan grain whisky distillery in South Ayrshire throughout the early 1960s. On 8th January 1964, the very first drops of new make spirit were filled into cask and while many millions of litres of spirit have followed over the years, the first casks filled have lain undisturbed and improving with every day. This release is a piece of Scottish distilling history, the first drops of whisky to have flowed from a distillery that has played a huge role in Scotch whisky production over the last fifty years.

Distilled 1964 and bottled in 2022, this stellar release is rich and bold with a hint of smoke, beeswax and ripe fruit on the nose. The palate is big, unctuous, decadent and sweet with layers of sweet toffee, followed by linseed oil and confectionery notes.

One of only 71 bottles, `The First Drop` forms part of the prestigious Charles Gordon Collection. Packaged in a hand-engraved, individually-numbered decanter with an ash display box featuring gold leaf inlay.

For almost one hundred years, generations of the Gordon family have carefully laid down stocks of whisky for special occasions and personal consumption. This rare collection has become known as House of Hazelwood, after the family’s Dufftown home – Hazelwood House.

Today, the collection has grown to become the greatest inventory of aged Scotch whisky held anywhere in the world. Spanning seven decades and every corner of Scotland. The House of Hazelwood range represents the first time bottlings from these casks have been made available to the public. Each whisky is as interesting as it is unique whether they are rare old blends which have been maturing for decades or casks from long-closed distilleries.
