Château Suduiraut, Premier Cru Classé in 1855, is one of the great historic vineyards of Sauternes, world renowned for its long lived sweet white wines that harmoniously combine fruit and floral aromas with roasted, candied notes. The 2010 vintage is a blend of 90% Sémillon together with 10% Sauvignon Blanc. Deep golden in colour, on the nose, woody, acacia honey, roast apricot and candied notes. Luxuriously opulent on the palate, with flavours of plum, wood and candied fruit, concluding on a smooth ginger and vanilla led finish.

The 2010 Suduiraut has an attractive bouquet with notes of Mirabelle, jasmine and saffron infusing the upfront honeyed fruit. This is no shy retiring wallflower. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening, lightly spiced with a pleasant bitter note that lends tension on the finish. Good length, this is a very fine 2010 Sauternes. Tasted blind at Farr Vintners 10-Year On Bordeaux horizontal. Neal Martin1st April 2020
