Scipio Sette Cieli 2020 is a medium-bodied Supertuscan red blend from the Bolgheri region. Sourced from vineyards situated above the famed Sassicaia, the wine is crafted under the guidance of Ambrogio Cremona Ratti and winemaker Elena Pozzolini. Expect dark fruit notes complemented by herbal undertones, with a structured tannin profile indicating potential for further development.

The 2020 Scipio, the estate’s top selection of Cabernet Franc, is terrific. Aromatic, deep and structured, the 2020 has a ton to offer. Blackberry, plum, espresso, menthol and mocha are all very nicely delineated. The style is one that seeks textural concentration and depth more than anything else. I would like to think a lighter hand might help even more varietal character come through. Antonio Galloni29th August 2025

Full bottle 1,382 g. 100% Cabernet Franc grown in very cool vineyards high up on a hilltop at 400 m. Very stony, calcareous soils. Organic farming. Hand-picked. Spontaneous fermentation. Ageing usually 12 to 16 months.Fragrant, dry and chewy. Forest-floor freshness and quiet, cool depth. Tobacco and blackcurrant. Ink dust. Powdery tannins which are currently notably astringent. Dark and powerful. Needs time and food. (TC)
