Xinomavro Pegasos 1997

HED79858 75cl 12.5%
Back in 1970, Markos Markovitis’ grandfather planted 24 hectares of the Xinomavro grape variety in the Naoussa region of northern Greece, near Thessaloniki and became the first Greek winery to practice organic viticulture. Xinomavro is in many ways similar to Nebbiolo with its youthful austerity and grippy tannins, but its incredible ability to mellow and soften with age, acquiring remarkable aromatic complexity and savoury nuance. The is a fascinating mature wine absolutely ideal for the curious drinker, particularly those that enjoy aged Burgundy or Barolo.
