Teliani Valley Glekhuri Kisi Qvevri 2020 is an orange/amber wine produced from the Kisi grape variety in the Kakheti region of Georgia. Founded in the 1990s by a group of young Georgian winemakers including the influential Gogi Dakishvili, Teliani Valley has become one of the most successful commercial producers of traditional Georgian qvevri (amphora) wines. Part of the winery`s Glekhuri range, the Kisi Qvevri 2020 was fermented with whole bunches in underground qvevris before being racked into fresh qvevris for maturation. Structured and expressive with dense dried stone and citrus fruits, and hints of roasted nuts and dried herbs, this gastronomic orange wine is an excellent introduction to the traditional styles of wine in Georgia, where winemaking is thought to have begun 8,000-10,000 years ago.
