Mestres Visol Half 2013

Mestres is one of the oldest producers of Cava with a history that dates back as far as 1312. They bottled their first sparkling in 1925 and still use the traditional native grape varieties and winemaking techniques favoured by their ancestors. The Visol 2013 is a lovely blend of 60% Xarel.lo, 20% Macabeo and 20% Parellada. A very elegant, aromatically rich Cava with marked notes of barrique aging. vanilla, lightly smoked and balsamic notes. Further complexity comes from notes of dried apricots, raisins, ripe apricot and apple. Structured and clean on the palate, with well-integrated bubbles. Long and persistent finish. A highly versatile pairing partner. Here in lovely half bottle format.
