Growing up in New Zealand, I was raised with a lifestyle that often felt distinctly European — wine was always part of the table alongside shared meals, long dinners, and a genuine appreciation for hospitality. I was also fortunate to experience Europe through travel from a young age, which helped shape my palate early on and created a longing to one day return to this side of the world — not just for a holiday, but to live.
I was proudly listed in the Top 100 Sommelier List for New Zealand in 2025, which felt like a very special send-off before moving to the UK. I have also completed my WSET Diploma, attending my graduation right here in London and I also hold a WSET Level 3 qualification in Spirits.
My path into wine began through hospitality, working in restaurants, bars, and cafés across Auckland while studying a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Psychology. But it was after completing a culinary arts course at The New Zealand School of Food & Wine that everything truly clicked into place. The wine classes that accompanied the chefing course completely hooked me. For the first time, my love of science, hospitality, travel, and people all met in one place — the world of wine.
Since then, I have worked across multiple areas of the industry: managing retail stores, working in account management for a wine importer and distributor, and helping launch a new wine bar before eventually making the move to the UK.
Landing at Hedonism Wines has been an incredible opportunity, and I'm very proud to be a Kiwi amongst such knowledgeable and highly regarded colleagues from all over the world. Having access to one of the rarest and most carefully curated selections of wine in the world is something I still don't take for granted. This place is pretty incredible… hedonistic, some may say.
If I had to drink wines from one region for the rest of my life, it would have to be Champagne. Between the historic houses and the growers now receiving well-deserved attention, I never tire of the diversity of styles coming from a region whose wines are so deeply tied to celebration, connection, and sharing with others.
One of my favourite parts of working in wine is helping people discover something new. Whether you know exactly what you're after or have no idea where to begin, come in and say hello — I'd love to help you find the perfect bottle for any occasion, even if the occasion is simply opening a good bottle of wine at home.
