Spending a childhood on Islay meant being fully immersed in the wonderful world of whisky for as long as I can remember! Since then, working in spirits has given me the privilege of living and working in some other amazing corners of the planet, from a rum distillery on the tropical Caribbean island of Grenada, to a family run craft rum distillery down under in sunny Queensland, Australia.
After all of this, when the opportunity to join the best wine and spirits shop in the world came up in August 2025, I knew it was a no brainer!
Coming from a family of old school wine merchants, my personal preference has always leant heavily towards Burgundy - especially as it covers all bases! But I always love trying new and interesting wines to broaden my horizons. And of course the whiskies of Islay - I have always had a soft spot for Bruichladdich in particular!
Outside of the shop, you will most likely find me on a golf course, in the middle of a river fishing, or trying out a new restaurant!
