Domaine d`Auvenay is a small but highly regarded estate situated in Saint-Romain. The domaine is owned by one of the most influential women in the French wine industry, Lalou Bize-Leroy, who also manages Maison Leroy and Domaine Leroy. The estate comprises only 4 hectares of vines, but these holdings include plots in grand cru sites such as Mazis-Chambertin, Bâtard-Montrachet and Bonnes-Mares, where this release comes from. The 1997 vintage was an excellent one across the board, which presented pleasant and attractive red wines from day one.
