Founded in 1829, Bollinger is one of the few Grandes Marques which are still independently owned. The Maison owns an impressive 178 hectares of vineyards, of which 85% are Grand Cru and Premier Cru vines. This is a very rare bottle from 1961, an excellent vintage for Champagne which produced healthy grapes of very good quality. It was also the year that John F. Kennedy was inaugurated as the 35th president of the United States.
