The Grivot family boasts a rich history in Burgundy. Jean Grivot, whose name remains prominent on the labels, assumed control from his father in 1955 and passed the reins to his son Etienne in the early 1980s. Today, the succeeding generation, Mathilde and Hubert, plays an active role. This particular bottling is their 1989 Echézeaux Grand Cru, crafted from grapes harvested from their 0.85-hectare plot. The vintage of 1989 proved highly favourable for both red and white Burgundy, and some of these wines are currently reaching their optimal maturation.
