One of the most respected and influential winemakers in Spain, Bierzo-born Raúl Pérez is justly lauded not only the great terroir wines he produces in his home region, but also for the seemingly limitless range of collaborations and extra-curricular winemaking ventures he undertakes. La Penitencia is an extraordinary single-vineyard Mencia from vines planted in 1910 in Ribeira Sacra. Burgundian in style, this is one of the finest Mencias in a very fine Raúl Pérez Mencia range.
