Ribera del Duero Wines

Located in the upper valley of the River Duero in Northern Spain, the vineyards of Ribera del Duero are situated on the highest part of the Meseta Central (the high central plateau), where they benefit from the cooling impact of altitude, thus retaining freshness of fruit and acidity. Cut off from maritime influence, the region is characterised by its hot, dry summers and very cold winters. With a reputation for high quality red and rosé wines, the region produces some of Spain’s most celebrated wines from the key grape variety Tempranillo (Tinto Fino), resulting in wonderfully full bodied, powerful wines. High alcohol is interwoven with blackberry and plum character, together with vanilla and chocolate complexity and the influence of French and American oak.

Here at Hedonism Wines, discover the region’s crème de la crème: from the dark and intense large formats of Aalto to the superbly elegant iteration of Ribera del Duero Tempranillo from Pago de Los Capellanes. Not to be missed are the highly sought-after cult wines from Dominio de Pingus and a jaw-dropping array of vintages and formats from the revered Vega Sicilia, showcasing the superb quality and ageability of the wines of the Ribera del Duero.
