Japanese Whisky

Masataka Taketsuru is considered by many to be the father of Japanese whisky having studied distillation in Campbeltown in the early 1900s and returned to Japan in 1920 to establish the Nikka Whisky Company. Since then, companies like Suntory have established well known brands like Hibiki, Yamazaki and Hakushu while smaller producers like Ichiro's Malt, Mars, Hanyu and Chichibu have more recently garnered praise from critics and drinkers alike.
