The Clergets are one of the oldest winemaking families in Volnay, tracing their history back to 1268. Clos du Verseuil is a monopole vineyard of the domaine and is one of Volnay`s best 1er Cru vineyard sites. It lies on a steep sloped  between the 1ers Crus Taillepieds and Bousse d’Or. This bottling is from the vintage in which Yvon Clerget took over the management of the domaine.
