{"product_id":"chateauneuf-du-pape-rayas-1999","title":"Chateauneuf du Pape Rayas 1999","description":"Château Rayas is one of the great French wine names of the modern era. Established by Albert Reynaud in 1880, Château Rayas rose to legendary status under the stewardship of the elusive yet engaging figure of Jacques Reynaud, who took over the management of the estate in 1978. His son, Emmanuel, has been in charge since 1997 and the Rayas star continues to rise. Château Rayas Châteauneuf-du-Pape 1999 is a mature, full-bodied 100% Grenache from exceptionally low-yielding old vines on sandy soil. Fermentation takes place with whole bunches in cement tanks. The wine is matured for around 16 months in old demi-muids (600l) and foudres. \"Smoky redcurrant nose, with hints of game, leather and pepper; surmuri notes of dried fruits. Fat but quite fine; less sweet and fruit-driven today than the Pignan but more complex, more serious. This has solid structure for ageing.\" Vinous, 2002","brand":"Chateau Rayas","offers":[{"title":"Duty Paid","offer_id":62413846839626,"sku":"HED39817","price":1940.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0998\/7696\/2634\/files\/HED39817.jpg?v=1781898676","url":"https:\/\/hedonism.co.uk\/products\/chateauneuf-du-pape-rayas-1999","provider":"Hedonism Wines","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
