Billecart-Salmon cultivates about 100 hectares and purchases grapes from about 300 hectares of vineyards across 40 crus spanning the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs. Cuvée Nicolas-François was created in 1964 as a tribute to the house`s co-founder, Nicolas-François Billecart. The 1998 is a blend of 60% Pinot, 40% Chardonnay from 100% Grand Cru plots. \"The aromas are especially captivating and highly suggestive of Pinot, but the Chardonnay seems to take centre stage on the palate, where the fruit is highly expressive.
