Agricola Punica is joint venture between the Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia Group, Sardinian winery Cantina di Santadi and the legendary Tuscan winemaker Giacomo Tachis. The Barrua blend is Carignan-based with smaller proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Each variety is vinified separately. The wine matures for 18 months in French oak barriques (40% new) and is then rested for up to 50 days in cement tanks. It then spends a further six months in bottle before release.
