Yquem 1928

Château d’Yquem is often considered the greatest sweet wine producer in the world and is unparalleled in its consistency, quality and near limitless capacity to age. The botrytised Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes that produce this incredible wine are painstakingly harvested by hand, berry by berry, with vinification taking place in 100% new French oak barrels and an average of 36 months maturation before release. This is a sweet wine like no other, with extraordinary levels of concentration and aromatic complexity, combined with remarkably silky texture, impeccable freshness and an incredibly long finish. In 2017, Neal Martin of The Wine Advocate awarded this a 98-point score and gave a drinking window up until 2040.
