Founded in 1969 by the iconic Dr Bailey Carrodus, Yarra Yering is one of the oldest and most significant wineries in the Yarra Valley region of Victoria and has a stellar reputation for producing some of Australia’s highest quality red table wines.
Dry Red No.2 was first produced in 1973 and is inspired by the blends found in the Northern Rhône Valley. From the sensational 2015 vintage, this release is a blend of 95% Shiraz and 2% Mataro co-fermented with 2.5% Viognier and 0.5% Marsanne, followed by maturation in French oak barriques (40% new) for 15 months. This is a heady, exotic and spicy wine endowed with great richness of fruit and wonderful savoury complexity.
