Yabby Lake Vineyard was established in 1998 on the Mornington Peninsula and, over the past two decades, have cemented a reputation for producing exceptional single vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The Single Block wines are only produced in exceptional years when parcels stand out for their individual personality.
Just the 2nd release in a decade, Block 5 is made exclusively from the MV6 and G5V15 clones. It is handpicked, hand-sorted and gently destemmed into traditional open-top French oak fermenters. Following primary fermentation, it was pressed off skins into French oak 500-litre puncheons for a further 11 months maturation. The 2018 is a dark and concentrated release awash with black berry fruits and sensational natural persistence and power.
