The 2014 release William Larue Weller was blended from 39 hand-picked barrels. The heat of the storage warehoueses meant that the distillers lost over 62% of the original whiskey to evaporation. What remains is a hufely intense wheated Bourbon that rightly deserves its cult following. Notes of dark molasses, ripe plums and toffee jump out of the glass, the palate is full and rich with notes of caramel and sweet pastry before a long, warming finish.
