Vin Jaune Tournelle 2008

Domaine de la Tournelle is a fantastic organic-certified producer in the Jura region of France, making traditional styles of wine from local grape varieties. This is a delicious young vin jaune, a distinctively dry, tangy and savoury wine made from the Savagnin grape and aged for seven years under a veil of flor. It is vibrant and fresh, with subtle texture, bright acidity and wonderfully pure flavours of citrus, orchard fruits, spices and toasted nuts. Perfect served chilled as an aperitif but even better when paired with aged hard cheeses or with wild mushroom dishes.
