The Bourdy family has been growing grapes and making wine in the Jura region for several hundred years and is widely regarded as one of the finest producers of the distinctive regional wine, vin jaune. Made from the Savagnin grape variety and aged under flor (as is similar in sherry production) these wines are exceptionally complex and savoury with remarkable capacity to age. Certainly a gastronomic style of wine, it is excellent when paired with nutty, aged cheeses such as Comté.
