Vieux Château Mazerat is a small 5-hectare Bordeaux estate owned and operated by JCP Maltus. The 2018 is a rich, Merlot-dominant blend (65%), with the remainder Cabernet Franc. Spiced dark plum character is accompanied by mocha and liquorice notes, leading to a wonderfully long finish. Sold in approachable half bottle.
