Regarded as Abruzzo’s greatest winemaker, Edoardo Valentini produced wine from the 1956 vintage until his death in 2006. After Edoardo’s passing, his son Francesco Paolo took over, assisted by his wife Elèna and their son Gabriele. Valentini’s Trebbianos are distinctive and expressive, with unique flavours and intense minerality. They also age extremely well, and this 1988 vintage is a case in point. It displays a rich, broad profile with slightly oxidative balsamic notes, tropical fruit, baking bread and mineral elements, followed by a long, detailed aftertaste.
