Terre du Lias Chardonnay Domaine de la Borde 2018

Domaine de la Borde is a tiny organic and biodynamic estate based in Pupillin, Arbois and is run by winemaker, Julien Mareschal. From just five hectares of vines he cultivates the principle red and white varieties of the Jura, making wines that are natural, precise and elegant in style. Terre du Lias is the largest production wine of the domaine at around 5,000 bottles and is made with Chardonnay that is entirely hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in 600-litre seasoned barrels with the lees for 12 months. It is vibrant, fresh and crystalline, with notes of citrus, white orchard fruits, dried white flowers and stoney minerality. This is a delicious wine and a name to watch out for.
