Teaninich Distillery was originally established in 1817 by captain Hugh Munro, owner of the Teaninich Estate. It is located in Alness, a town built on local trades such as forestry, agriculture and distilling. Today the distillery is part of Diageo’s portfolio and produces malt for its blended whiskies such as Johnnie Walker, Vat 69 and Haig. This 23-year-old expression was distilled at Teaninich in 1973 and bottled in April 1997 for United Distillers` Rare Malts Selection.
